Michael Weinberger is the Graduate Assistant Coordinator for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Student Involvement & Advocacy. Michael is a second-year graduate student, studying urban planning in the area of community development. He received his undergraduate degree from the American University in Washington, D.C., with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and American Studies.

Michael's job is to ensure that LGBT student voices are heard in the greater campus environment. The LGBT community at University of Maryland is both diverse and accessible, and in this position, the coordinator enables every student at UMD to have the opportunity to connect with these distinct communities and find their own experience.

Ways to Get Involved at UMD: The Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy (MICA) Focus Group

The MICA department is looking for students that want better services for underrepresented communities at the University of Maryland College Park. Come discuss ways that the MICA department can help you! What groups are silenced on campus? What types of discrimination are not being addressed? What resources are lacking at the University? Come shout out!
