May 3rd, 2009 Congrats to the New Pride Alliance Executive Board for Fall 2009-Spring 2010:
President: Spencer Brennan
April 27th, 2009 Hi All:
So we come to the end of Pride Month and indeed
nearing the end of another school year. Finals are just around the corner and
sooner than you know it, it's summer—finally!
But the events are over yet. Along with group
meetings we have Hot Safer Sex, presented by W2W, a fun safer sex
workshop for women-identified persons. Also, this Tuesday is our Election Day,
so come vote for next year's Executive Board.

Director of Communication, Pride Alliance
April 27th, 2009 Hi All: For those who missed Pride Prom: what were
you thinking? The event was spectacular especially live performances, free food,
and very loud music. Now you'll have wait another year...And for those who did
show up: thanks for making Pride Prom a success! Also special thanks to our DJs
and our performers who were the icing to the cake, and Mike Weinberger
for...well, being Mike Weinberger. And as Pride Month winds down, that doesn't
mean we are out of events. U
People, a spectacular, "accidental documentary," will be showing this
Thursday on TCOM Day! Also, next week is the National
Center for Transgender Equality's Lobby Days, three days of fighting for
equality; so remember to register today for your chance to lobby. Also, don't
forget April 28th is our very own Election
Day for next years officers. This
group's is dependent on your vote and your participation. So come, vote, and
maybe we'll see something bigger and better than this year's Pride Prom! Eric Nguyen Director of Communication,
Pride Alliance
Hi All: Pride Month has been eventful so far. And
to top everything we've done so far, this Saturday is our annual Pride
Prom 2009! This year, the theme is MasQUEERade.
So come with a mask! Don't have one, come to QSA this
Tuesday to pick one up, throw glitter on it, and look fabulous! Also, don't
forget that this Wednesday we're showing Shortbus,
directed by the famed director of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, John Cameron
Mitchell. We'll see you there! Eric Nguyen Director of Communication,
Pride Alliance
Hi All:
Hi everyone, our special showing of To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar
Hi All:
Tonight: Just a reminder that tonight Project Humyn and Pride Alliance presents: Understanding Homophobia, a lecture with Mike Ryan. Mike Ryan, if you know him or not, was the president for the Pride Alliance a couple of years back. Now, he's a graduate student in the sociology department who specializes in social theory.
Tonight we proudly present to you Salt Lines, 8pm in the Dorchester Lounge! Come celebrate a night of art, excitement, and pride through spoken-word! Hope to see you there! Check out more information here!
Welcome back everybody! I hope spring break was eventful and relaxing, because the 9 weeks will be the hardest week of your life, or at least that’s what they want you to believe with papers, tests, presentations, the big final.
Update: TCOM has been cancelled tonight. Hi everyone, first off, let me direct you to check out our newsletter; if you're not subscribed, e-mail communication.pride[@]umd.edu, because there's a lot of fun events going on around DC and College Park this week! Secondly, mark your calendars, March 31st starts our Pride Month (well, April, a day short), Salt Lines, a distinctly different type of poetry reading. We'll have more info. up soon, for now, you just need to be there!
Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know of the new Safespace location: Now in Jiménez 2123!
Happy March everybody! Hope everyone is enjoying the snow. Personally, I can’t wait until winter is over, but that’s just me. Plus, spring time means Pride time. Again, Pride Month is just a month away, and we have plenty of events coming your way. Outside, the Pride Alliance, there are many events going on this week. Including Palestine Solidarity Week and a continuation of the LGBT Department’s Spring Lecture featuring Jill Dolan’s “From Flannel to Fleece: Women’s Music, Lesbian Feminism, and Me.”
Come Join the Semester's First

Last week was the kick off of Pride Month (yes, during March). For those who didn’t make it to the Salt Lines Poetry reading, you missed a lot. For those who missed the Helen Zia event, you missed more. And for those who didn’t come to the free concert featuring The Shondes, you missed much more.
Lucky for you, you can make it all up this week as we begin our film series. First off, on Wednesday, we are showing the documentary The Times of Harvey Milk. Friday, along with AASU, we’re showing Nina’s Heavenly Delights. And on Saturday, we bring you To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar featuring our very own spectacular drag contest—will you be our winner?

Luckily, you have us. And luckily, we have Pride Month, filled with fun and free events across all April. So much that we had to take up some room in March and merging it together with April we have successfully “queered” the month. So yay us!
Our first event will be the Salt Lines Spoken Word Tour, next Monday. But don’t forget that this Wednesday the American Indian Student Union will be presenting “Me Funny, Me Sexy” with Drew Hayden Taylor, which should be a thought provoking and hilarious look at the intersection of race and sexuality.
We hope to see everyone there and we hope everyone is geared for Pride Month.

A third note, Safespace’s new room in Jimenez 2123. See you this Wednesday at Safespace!

November 23rd, 2008
Hope everyone had fun last week. We had events planned from Monday all the way through Saturday and luckily this week we get some rest. The rest of the semester should be relatively quiet, as we at the Pride Alliance Executive Board are trying to help you study for those exams, by not having another social within the three or so weeks left of the sememster. But that doesn't mean you should skip the small group meetings. In fact, it just gives you more excuse to come and say "Hi."
As for this week, BAM, SafeSpace, and TCOM are cancelled, but W2W and QSA should be running at usual times. Of course, you can also email your facilitators and ask to be sure, and while you're at it, thank them for all the work they've done this semester. It is Thanksgiving.
